How to start

Surf Ski paddling, kayaking, canoeing, rafting and canoe polo are great ways to experience the outdoors, get in shape, and have fun!

It's important to remember to be smart, be safe and know your limits when you paddle.

Register now for classes to learn the necessary basics and the required safety procedures that will enable you to speed up your learning process and enjoy paddling!

Classes

Classes in surf ski paddling, canoeing and canoe polo cater for all levels of ability and age. Classes are run on a daily basis in Port Elizabeth.

Classes are conducted at one of three venues; Hobie Beach, North End Lake and The Boardwalk, depending on weather conditions and your selected discipline.

All the necessary equipment to get you started is supplied, all you need to bring along will be your swimming gear and your sense of humour.

Join Canoeing South Africa (CSA)

Surf Ski paddling is a fully recognised discipline of Canoeing South Africa (CSA).

Ski paddling became officially affiliated to CSA in 2003, and now has a fully representative committee and a chairperson who sits as a full voting member of the CSA Executive.

We urge all interested paddlers to become affiliated members of CSA. Futhermore, all paddlers taking part in CSA sanctioned events will need to be registered CSA paddlers. You can either join the CSA (and obtain your CSA number) through an affiliated canoe club or as a Surf Ski paddler. CSA Membership forms are included in your SurfSki Proficiency welcome pack, or they can be obtained from your Dare2Paddle instructor or from the CSA website indicated below.
